Coast to Coast
The Spring Thaw is here! We are 48 hours away from go time in the Gorge and we couldn't be more excited, or busy. A couple of things:

1. If anyone of you need me, please call/text for anything I can help you guys with. As those returning from last year know, cell phone service is non existent near the cabin area but I am told the wifi has been upgraded from last year.

2. When you arrive, please see the posted signage at the bottom of the staircase. This will let you know where to go and where to sleep! Beds were assigned on a first come first serve basis, so please pay attention to where you are to avoid any confusion. Richard will be most pissed if his bed is once again missing this year.

3. Check in will be at 12:00 PM. We will arrive earlier with all the gear and food to unload. If at all possible, please show up around noon to help lug some stuff up the mile high staircase.

4. Directions. If anyone needs help getting to the camp site, please shoot me a message and I will get you a map & directions.

5. The tent garage will be a new addition this year. I will run juice and set up tents to store bikes under while they are being worked on. If you are able to bring a tool set up, please do so. I will be bringing down a couple boxes but it's not enough for multiple bikes.

6. THANK AMANDA. While talking to Kiley Last night, he made the statement that we are incredibly lucky for a bunch of drunk rejects to be held up by such functional and responsible women. Amanda took the week of from work to help me get ready and cook for everyone. She started cooking yesterday and it has been non stop in that kitchen! If this thing were left up to me, we would all be eating crackers and drinking beer inside the Nada Tunnel.

We are both really excited to be able to put on this event and share our weekend with you. The Do The Ton family is such an amazing group of people and I am lucky to call you all friends. Thanks for coming, ride safe, and enjoy the weekend!

Amanda IS indeed a sweetheart. And you both are such a vibrant asset to our community of misfits. I simply cannot wait.

Tim Burke - Cincinnati - Arriving Friday afternoon.

Amanda is awesome. You kind of suck, but at this point it's irrelevant.

I secretly love you and talk trash to make it less obvious. I am a walking emotional mess about it. :p

I'm sleeping somewhere that is not a hardwood floor this year.

And Amanda, you're the best. THE BEST

I think I just got booted to a hardwood floor... Fuck it, its whatever! I'm just excited about hanging out with motorcycle peoples!

Once I get the list typed up, I'll post it here tonight so everyone we can see. Riot, I think you made that giant ass comfy couch in the Rumford Cabin...I think.

2014 Official Spring Thaw shirts for all you bastards!

Keith is being an old bitch so I let him get dibs. No worries, I don't mind crashing on the floor as long as I am not cold.

Name's Marco, by the way. Look forward to meeting you guys and gals this weekend.

Just an FYI, I will be bringing 2 popup 10x10 shelters. Andrew(mothgils) is being generous and letting us use it in his absence.

Amanda can't get enough thanks. Last year was phenomenal! I would have been plenty happy eating crackers on the cliff of the napa tunnel. Thanks again for all your hardwork!!!

Also. Shut up Marco.

KO

I've packed up a keg of the pattiersbier again this year, make some of you open your tastes to something other than miller.

THANKS AMANDA!

Also, shirts look rad.

I don't want to be at work anymore. My new chain and taillight are on. All the bolts and screws are tightened and all of the movey bits have been lubed. My tool roll is stocked. All that's left is to pack my bag. Hell, you guys don't care if I wear the same thing all weekend, then I can skip the backpack.

I will be there Friday around dinner time.

Beemer is packed. I think Jared's bike is zip tied back together. Leaving in the morning with a Thursday night layover in Fall Creek Falls in Tennessee, then headed to the gorge to be there by lunch Friday. So starts the adventure!

Need to put the rear wheel back on Jim's bike and then check fluids on both bikes. Get them packed up and we are leaving 1st thing tomorrow am. See how far we get with the weather. Regardless we should be at the Gorge early fri. I'll try to update our progress. lol

Yup, my work day tomorrow is non stop chaos from 8:30 until 5pm.. Its going to be extremely hard to give a shit about anything going on.

For those who need it.

The address for Middle Fork Lodge is 3545 Natural Bridge Slade, KY 40376.
From the Mountain Parkway, take exit 33 (Slade). Go south on Highway 11 toward Beattyville. After you pass the entrance to the Natural Bridge State Park that leads to trails, cottages, and Hoe Down Island, turn right at the entrance to Middlefork Campground. (Look for the Quiet Waters sign). Go down the hill, past the check-in station, around a sharp bend, and across the creek. Take an immediate left onto Watkins Cemetery Road. The parking lot for the cabins is at the end of the short drive. Follow the signs up the steps to the Middlefork Lodge.
