That just reminded me of a GSX250 I worked on years ago,friend noticed paint bubbling on seam and before I could stop him he rubbed it which pushed the rust and caused massive leak :
Probably wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't a traffic cops bike that he needed to get to work that day

Loaded up the bike on my truck hauler. I'll take it to my local shop for state safety inspection and then go have the carbs dyno tuned. The seat pad and front fender are yet to be installed. I'm still waiting on my fork brace and have the stock 450 brace on it temporarily.

Bike looks great! Hopefully the inspection goes well and you can get out on the road. I really need to get back to working on the one sitting on my work bench. I've been spending all my time riding the other bikes haha.
As for the Bug, I assume a 70 body on a pre 67 chassis.
Nope, 70 on a 70. Brakes are CNC 4 pot (Baja racing stuff) wide 5 bolt pattern. All other aftermarket brakes are shit. These can lock up the wheels on dry pavement and have great pedal feel.
2442cc, TF-1 aluminum case, twin Weber 48 IDFs, Berg 5 speed with a ZF limited slip diff. Hauls ass.

Just got a call from the dyno shop. It's running a bit rich in spots and lean in others. I jetted it with recommendations from other builders. He's going to try some things to get it running smoother. Hopefully I'll get it back today or tomorrow.

I picked it up from the shop today. I rode it home and she died on me 12 miles from the shop. Apparently my gas cap isn't venting properly. I had to crack it open for it to continue to run.
Also I need to raise the idle speed a hair. I had to keep goosing the throttle at stop lights or she would die.
What do typical 350s make at the rear wheel? Mine seems a bit low considering a complete fresh rebuild. 23 hp at 9000 on a DYNOmite machine. Don't most make 25? I know Honda claimed over 30, but I think those were done under the older SAE H.P. formula. Also that might have been crank H.P. and not RWHP. Seemed like most plots I saw online from others were at 25?

Could it be timing or fuel? The shop owner said he re-timed it, which seemed odd since I set the timing according to the Honda shop manual with my timing light.
I'll check compression as well with my tester.
Got started on mounting my front fender. I'm ditching the stock fender bracket (replaced with Tarozzi fork brace) and am fabricating some aluminum brackets. I'll also use some small tubing for front and rear stays to help brace the fender.
I've yet to mess with the engine idle or check timing advance.
