Seafoam-good or bad?

It's AMAZING!!! I use it routinely, about every third tank or so I put a couple ounces in the gas. I've also used to in every bike I've bought that hadn't run in awhile. With my 81 kz650 that hadn't run in over five years I cleaned and rebuilt the carbs, cleaned the gas tank, put in new plugs and the bike fired right up but didn't run right. I put a heafty dose of seafoam in the gas, and just as much in the crankcase and took the bike out for a good hard ride. About 5 minutes after getting out with the seafoam in it the bike woke up and started running like a scalded dog.
When I started using it routinely I noticed a marked improvement in fuel economy and consistently smoother starts and running. I've yet to come across someone who has had issues because of it either.

Yep, another avid user. If you have a bike that's running rough, and you think the problem is in the fuel system, the best thing to try is seafoam. Run a treated tank of gas and it should clean out the blockage.

Car Quest in Canada - I've gotten a few bottles of it there. I'm not a religious user, but ran some through my Honda Civic and use it to stabilize fuel in the winter in my bike.

Hmmm-weird. I posted this on the Jockey Journal (old school chopper/bobber board ) Just to get perspective and they made the stuff sound like the Devil in a can. Melted rubber parts and an appetite for Kieren carbs. Their logic makes sense to a degree. Once the stuff knocks out the carbon, it has no where to go but down into the carbs and out the plugs, fouling everything along the way.

But you guys say no problem... ???

That would be the first negative comments I've ever heard about Seafoam, and I've run it in numerous cars and bikes.

So, did it ever occur to them that their carbs were crudded up before, and after using seafoam, their carbs were then clean(er). But because their original O-rings were long since garbage, they now leak because all the varnish and crud that used to be sealing the leaks is now gone. If the bike sat for 20 years, rebuild the carbs. Seafoam may be great stuff, but it doesn't put your old O-rings back together...... yet.

No offence, but too many chopper/bobber guys expect a lot from an old barn find and expect it to run perfect without putting any effort into it other than chopping the crap out of it, putting gobs of cheesy iron crosses and skulls on, and rattle-can flat blacking the WHOLE bike.

Seafoam.... good

I second Rudy's response.... this appears to be symptomatic of what ales most garage mech's.... most think that things are conveniently packaged salvation in a can. I use seaform periodically in my bikes.... but nothing could take the place of a good carb rebuild.

I've heard good things about it as well, how much do you use? Thinking about the crankcase. I re-jetted & cleaned the carbs really well on my kz400, but didn't completely rebuild them & it runs really & starts easy even with the smaller battery w/ 3 less cranking amps.

Been a believer in seafoam for years. Every bike I have ever bought has had a healthy dose of it in the tank and crankcase, whether it needed it or not.

Sorry I don't have a before vid, but believe me when I say that the day I bought my KZ650, it ran like S@#T. This vid was taken the next morning after an oil change, new plugs, and 20 miles of seafoam in the tank and crank. It's a bit boring, but you get the picture.

Did a good clean out of the carbs (not a complete tear down, but close). I mixed a bit in the gas and some in the oil bag. Next fill up, the rest will go in.

Hey, did anyone that used it get the superhuge carbon plumes that seem to be all over youtube?
