Sealing gas tank.

Been Around the Block
Ok so I need to seal the tank on my 360 because I am getting some fuel seapage from the seams. What product do you guys like the best. I was looking at a eastwood one a por one and kreem. Do I need the whole kit or should I just buy the sealer and clean the tank with some naval jelly first?

Don't try to re-invent the process unless you are willing to risk failure.

FOLLOW THE LABEL DIRECTIONS TO THE LETTER!

Don't try to improvise and buy different products from the hardware store, and then end up with a fucked up tank. You only get one chance to do it right.

I've never tried the Caswell product, but I've only heard good things about it. I have used POR-15 several times, and I've had 100% success with it. Get the KIT, that has the cleaners and prep materials included. Block out several hours to do the project. Don't take short cuts. Do the whole process in one session.

I have also used Kreem, and it worked fine for me. It's a much thicker coating. (The word goopy comes to mind.) Some people don't like Kreem and recommend against it. I only used it once, and so far, I have not heard back from the person I did it for. It was a VERY heavily corroded tank, and I think Kreem was probably a better treatment in that particular case.
