Seat Upholstery; What Did It Cost You?

Local guy here charges in the $100 range, usually topping out below $150. The same guy quoted me $250 for the bench seat in my C10.

I paid $100 to have mine done, after I shaped the foam. Very happy with it.

Damn, that looks good! You did a damn good job on the foam. Did you have to do anything special in the foam for the raised ribs in the seat? By the way, how does the bike perform with those pods on it?

the raised ribs are done by the upholsterer, they stitch in a foam to the material that creates that look

Thanks, thwrightstuff. That seat isn't bolted down in this shot, just sitting on the rails. When snugged down, that airgap between seat and frame disappears. I used marine grade foam, shaped it how I wanted, and gave a picture to my upholsterer, he made the ribs. The bike screams with the pod/exhaust combo. I always get amused when people say, " it will never run right with pods!". Mine idles perfectly fine at 1200 rpm, pulls strongly to 9000 rpm, and cruises effortlessly at any throttle position.

Damn, I'm jealous. I tried countless times to make pods work on mine. I even did two double stacked pods and no luck. I got it to work but not nearly as smoothly as airbox. Besides, what I do like about the airbox is that you get a bit better mpg than pods. I was up at 155 nearly for mains when my stock airbox setup is usually 95. Yikes!

Nice bike. Seat looks good. The won't run with pods is usually for CV carbs. Looks like you have mechanical slide carbs so tuning with pods is easier.
