Seatcovers: Rivets vs Staples

PHeller

Coast to Coast
What to use and why? I know alot of people use staples because if you mess up, they can be easily removed. However, staples don't always hold as tight as rivets in aluminum or steel.

Rivets can sold the holding issue, but better make sure everything is minty before you push the rivet.

i made my seat pad for a metal pan i bought off ebay. i just took a thin board and cut the it along with the foam to the shape of the seat. wrapped it up with some vinyl and THEN used a staple gun. Easier in my opinion than the rivets. Not professional by any means but it looks pretty good for really cheap. its on the most recent page of my thread down below.

I did mine as a lace up so if I ever needed to replace the cover I would be easy.

Don't get too attached. I'm riveting mine. If I mess up i'll make something new.
