I can't find a shifter for my cb400 (1978)
On eBay or on online part stores...
wondering if my search is futile.. do most bikes just use a universal shifter lever?
Should I just look for a salvage yard/junkyard and grab any old shifter off an ol jap bike?

Measure the diameter of your mounting shaft and get ye to the boneyard! Even if you get the wrong length the first time what are you out? 3 or 4 bucks. And then you know if the one you have is to long or to short.

Hey Terry,
I've got my shifter removed, I was thinking about bringing it to a yard and matching it up to the shifters I find there.
