Shock question

Hey guys, I can buy some awesome looking black shocks for $85....But they are for '78 t0 '82 CB 750s. Will that not fit on my '73? The shocks that came on this bike are pretty beat and I honestly dont really want to get into painting them. So for that price Id be very excited to just be able to slap those on. Any of you know if they would fit? Or have any other ideas for me meaning do you know of any sites that sell forks already done up like that for cheap? Im kind of focused on the other stuff, I dont really need to be worrying about painting my shocks...

Any help?

If the lengths between the two sets are close, and the mounting is the same, go for it.
If you cant make them work, resale. Thats my philosophy.

They should work, and if you reread your post you ask where one might find forks... Some folks refer to forks as shocks, so I was just clarifying so you got your answer. Just sayin.

78 to 82 is dohc. not sure how weights compare? (I think they are heavier than sohc?)
May be a good thing as sohc is undersprung.

hahaha Sorry man, didnt even realize I type forks at the end...Duurrrrrr...my mistake.

My brother has an 81 he's messing around with (A hard year to build) so maybe I'll just grab one of his and try it on mine before I buy anything...Just figured Id ask you guys first so I didnt have to go through taking his off and stuff.
