I've wanted a shop truck for a while.
Found this on the local craigslist.
'73 chevy c10
Has a small block 350, turbo 400 trans and a 12 bolt rear with 4.11s
She doesn't leak, starts when cold perfectly and doesn't have crazy rot.
Here is the plan.
-adjust the steering, or replace box
-replace all suspension bushings
-new shocks
-new front calipers and pads
-replace ball joints and tie rods.
-probably ditch the gears for something more streetable. 3300rpm at 60 is not what I'm looking for
Basically service the crap out of it, but no major "building"
Over the winter I'll lower it, fix some of the rust and maybe swap the motor.
But for now she will just be a mule.
Bonus is the girl likes it, and wants to go the beach with it this weekend, and do some yard sales.
