Simplified Wiring Digrams for a Suzuki GT250

Hi there,

Looking for a real simple diagram to wire up my 1973 GT250.

Will be running a head light , tail light , front brake switch and that's about it.

Add rear brake switch, charging circuit and ignition and that's all there is on a GT250. They are about as basic as it gets. Not a lot to remove.

Upgrade to a modern rectifier / regulator, the old selenium ones are way past 'best before ' ;D

I was thinking the same thing. Its the only simpler harness ive ever seen next to the xr200. Maybe he is wanting no gauge lights too?

It all depends on what country/state you live in. In most countries you need mirrors, a horn, indicators and a brake light operated by front and rear brakes. Some countries allow bikes to run daytime only without a headlight but most do not.

All those lights are for your safety. At least that's the idea. It's hard enough for cars and trucks to see us with lights on, let alone with no lights.

The GT is so simple that if you did decide to do away with all those lights, all you have to do is to remove the lights and tape over the cable ends to be safe. That way you can always add them back later when you see some cool looking lights that would look good on your bike.
