If you like my gear....... you should see my bikes
. Don't think that I have a lot of money (I don't). I am just your average retired grocery clerk with a transplanted heart and a lust for mechanical things...... I scan the internet for deals on everything that I can't get locally and rely on my network of friends to do lots of favors for me, of course, I have to return those favors
. I have a couple of painters who do an excellent job and several mechanic friends who help out when I get stuck. I usually build 3-4 bikes per year and always am working on a project... or four. Current projects include: my 500 GTL cafe, a 95' ducati with 99 supersport engine and running gear and custom bodywork, a 78' Ducati 750 SS "replika", a Honda 750 Cafe, and a BSA cafe. I am also planning to slightly redo my semi-restored Honda 550 Supersport by taking off the newly painted bodywork and fairing and replacing it with my original orange metalflake painted bodywork, clubman bars, and a small flyscreen. Hopefully, by summer I can redo my R80 BMW cafe with new bodywork, and a hotter motor done up in Udo Gietel race colors. Then there is my poor Royal Enfield awaiting its high compression 535 piston, hp cam, racing valve springs, with a mild port job. Not to mention, my 883 Sporty turned 1200cc with a lot of hot rod shit..... if my pal Elwood, who is an ace Harley mechanic, ever gets my motor done. Currently I have about ten running bikes and the rest are torn down and being rebuilt. I also have almost all parts to complete them (except my $250 BSA) and redo the others. All my bikes are kept looking like, or better than new and are kept in excellent mechanical shape by me, with more than a little advice and sometimes help from my trained mechanic friends (Ducati, BMW, The Big Four, and HD factory trained). Looks like I wouldn't ever have any time to ride but I managed about 8-10 thousand miles this year........ life is a grandstand and we are all winners 8) 8) 8) 8)...... hehehehe.
