Skateboard as a seat pan

Okay, I know plenty of folks have done this. Any advice on how to do it well?
My friend is a short legged woman and bought a cb450. I've put some shorter shocks on for her and the seat is the next step. Getting a real thin but strong seat pan would be good. A skateboard could be a fun recycled method. I'd like to add padding while letting some of the skateboard show at the edges.
At Barber last year Kiley and some of the guys told me there was a guy up east on DDT that did great leather upholstery work. Anyone know who that is?

I got the below skateboard free for the asking at a shop in Columbus OH. It may not be the final one but it's a good and free starting point.

I think that was beatnic's friend Jim. Rode his Airhead from PA to Barber last year. Not sure if he's on DDT.

it should be easy.
here is one that I saw at the Cleveland mods vs rockers a few weeks ago. he rode from PA to OH on it. I wouldn't, but he did.

AlchemyPGH (jim) does seats and other upholstery. You can message him here. Ill post his contact info when im on a real computer.

Rusnak, that is my buddy chris's cb550. He rode out with us from pittsburgh

I think it's super cool, I have around 15 broken boards from when I used to skate, I'd always snap the tails off em so it's perfect! :D

I might just try this, add some padding and get it upholstered. I had a skate seat on my old moped and besides vibrating your butt numb it was sweet looking. I figure with padding it wouldn't be bad though

Very cool idea! I almost wish I had not found this site. Now I am going to have to find another project with all the ideas I am seeing.
