That looks like some awesomely fun hardware you have there!
I used to compete in long-range target rifle...does it still count if I don't use a scope?

ive just stated shooting.
my range only goes out to 300yds.
im using a .22lr at 100yds and getting 1.5in grouping and trying to get that smaller. dont have a high dollar .22 rig
i also just picked up a 1939 nagant to use out to 200 with iron sights.....should be fun
im starting to think about building a longer range better rig.
maybe and AR but im not sure.
NY laws kinda sux so nothing to much fun...lol
Hey Surffly, the 22 is an excellent way to start out, I think we all started on them, well I know I did and I started my son on one too.. Ammo is cheep and there just plain fun to shoot.. 1.5 @ 100 yards with a 22 is excellent shooting!.. please don't kid yourself, that shooting 1.5 MOA.. not bad at all sir..
Oohhh that Nagant you got.. hahaha I love mine!.. It’s a fun and cheep to shoot, but it kicks more than my DTA.. lol..
Have fun

Cool! I love gun porn and shooting but sadly the longest range I have to use is 200 yards. And my nicest iron is actually an m44 mosin nagant from 1946. But its fun, and im building an ar15 that will probably be finished in about 5 years haha. But I know if it wasn't for cafe racers id be spending a lot more time and money on guns. I really some of the pics on this thread so far!
Hey 200 yards is a great start big guy.. Ahh another Nagant!.. Hey you cant go wrong with them, not when Big 5 sells them for $89.00.. When you get around to building your AR shoot me PM I'll forward you some really helpful links and video on the whole process..
here's some more gun porn for you.. Lets see I left off a the 300 yard rifles, how about some of the 100 yards and under
Saiga 12g Simi Auto

Here’s something you don't see everyday, this is my .50 Bewolf.. I can shoot up to 600gr bullets with it..
I love this gun..
Here’s a 600 – 500 & 400 gr bullets next to a 223 / 556 55gr bullet.

At the risk of angering the man with several high powered weapons in his possession, I think you made a critical typo there.

There are pics of me and some HOGs whacking steel silly-wets at a thousand in 35mph wind.
I envy your range availability, I would spend MASSIVE amounts of cash on ammo with ranges that close. ; )
That is sooooooooooooo Cool... thanks for posting the video.. Trust me, massive amounts of $$$ is pretty much right, lol that's why I cam here, I needed a more affordable hobby. lol..

Got sniper training in the Army but didn't make the cut (I'm sneaky like a bull in a China shop and my camo looked like street grafiti!!) Still learned to shoot like heck! I still remember the Ft. Benning range with fondness! That's the longest range that I ever had access to.
Had a M1a Loaded Springfield that I punched paper with for ages but age, vision and the current depression (I'm depressed, I had to sell it!!!) conspired to deprive me of it. Never used a scope on it. Just couldn't justify it while I could still see the front sight. That went away with the need for bi-focals!
The last target I shot was 10 shots unsupported at 100 yards and I scored 100 with 3X. I framed the target and hung it over my desk at work. I didn't get many arguments after that!!! Folks accused me of poking holes in it with a pencil!!!
Love to shoot but all that is left are some target pellet rifles. We call them the Pidgeonators!!!
FMTL
That is soooo cool.. I bet you can shoot your ass off.. I'm luckily enough that I get to shoot with some active and retired military gentlemen and DAM... they can shoot.. I bet you one hell of Pidgeonator!.. lol.. if your ever in So-Cal shoot me a PM I’ll take out and we’ll bang some steel at 1k.. It would be honor sir..

I've never tried anything long range, but I also got my kids in early.
We have a small indoor range about a mile away that we go to every couple of months and squeeze some rounds through my Sigma.
Last time we went it was just me and my younger son (15y/o), as my older son (18y/o) was at Fort Jackson for basic training.
This is him with the Sigma
And with his Uncles Ruger Security Six .357
(first time firing a Magnum)
This is his latest. It's hanging on his bedroom wall
Redbird, your boys got GAME!.. right on Sir.. I love that smoke ring from the 357.. that is cool.. So how did you boy like it? my kid same age (ish) hates mine.. hahaha it's just to much kick for him..
Thanks for posting the pic.. way cool..
