some donor ideas

I'd like a little beater for around town -- pretty much just like this, but would rather spend a few thousand on a project, rather than 20k on a dues bike

Can anyone recommend some potential donors for a simple project like this? Also, does anyone know what motor this is?

Lastly, if anyone has a running, street legal donor that might work, please let me know.

95% sure that's a cb125 engine.. Those can be had very cheaply. I think two were given to me and the other I had was delivered and paid $50 for... Parts can be had easily as well (except for cable driven front calipers).

i would look for an early twin shock xr/xl200 reliable a a brick as long as they kept oil innit
at least it would be able to keep up with traffic

I agree. The Honda XR range is cheap and plentiful. The bigger models are tractors that will take you cross country and the smaller ones are great for blasting around town.
