I'm too poor to go, but say hello to the huge group of Kiwis out there by way of Bakersfield if you see (or hear) them. They're great people and are there with a Indian motored bike trying to set a record.
I was planning to go until I got laid off. That kind of put the kibosh on the plan. But no one is entered in my class so I hope there is no late entries and my record will be safe for another year.

Ran into a couple of kiwis, but they came in to san fran, then to Vegas, and from their to the flats. Still great guys though. Ive got a ton of pictures, as soon as their done uploading ill post them for everyone who was interested but couldnt make it, there were some WILD machines out there.
You really should make it to Bonneville sometime. You will not regret it. You will see all sorts of amazing machinery. This is Martin Doerfler. He just set a record in the 500cc A/PG (pushrod gas) class with his immaculate Triumph. He averaged (two runs) 115.081mph.

Heres a link to the May El Mirage dry lake meet. Not quite Bonneville but it shows some of the variety of machines you will see there. Plus a short video.

I had no idea El Mirage was so close. I lived/worked in Lancaster for one miserable year and never had a cluel; I need to get out more. Looks like another event I will be attending.
