Spoke length for CB's

Anybody know a list of bike make/model & spoke lengths?

I need a set (36 total. 18 innies, 18 outies) of 150mm long spokes and rebuild-kits are cheaper than a special-made set. I want to order (davidsilver/cmsnl) a set of spokes wich was intentially made for a special make & model. Just to keep the costs down.

Best would be a secondhand wheel. gonna blast and coat is when the wheel is laced, so rusty surface spokes don't matter.

I've pulled a set from my front wheel if you want them. Stock length I believe.

Pay the postage and their yours. I'm in Australia.

Your posting does't make a lot of sense. You ask for spoke lengths and then tell us you know exactly the spoke length you need. You don't say what wheel/bike you need it for; not what hub you are using or what rim you are using (though its clear its from a small bike).

One of the things you are going to find out very quickly, if you bother to go search around for spoke sets, is that not very many people make them. However that's not all that important in that the one company (Buchanans) (sp?) that still does will ask you all the pertinent questions when you call to place the order, they will give you exactly the spokes you need. Oh, and there's a good bit more to it than just spoke length. There is also spoke diameter and the all important bend at the hub end; that's why your inner and outer spokes are not interchangeable.

Also, and its how you put your question that prompts this, have you ever laced and trued a wheel before? If not you might want to find someone who has to walk you through it the first time; lacing is child's play but truing a wheel (which really isn't any harder) can be very frustrating for someone who hasn't done it a few times and nearly impossible if you don't have the right tools. You'll want to have a proper spoke wrench and a decent dial indicator and associated clamps and such and of course you will have to cob together some sort of wheel stand.

@Neevo,

Are they 150mm long and how are the heads? From wich bike did you salvage them? Might be cheaper to find such a wheel in the Netherlands? Could you snap some jpg's for me?

@Kong,

My posting does make sense, but i think you mis-read it. I need spokes wich are 150mm long. I know i can buy them at the usual shops (buchanan and such) but i want to know if there is a list (same like the fork-diameter list) for spoke lenghts in bikes.

for example

cb125 disc '67-'69 front 210mm/rear 130mm
cb125 twin '77-'79 front 205mm/rear 130mm

and so on.

That way, if i find such a list i can use old spokes from an old wheel to lace my rim and hub. It's a great way to find out ON THE CHEAP wich spoke lenghts you need. You can always order new ones then. I build strange wheels. I mean, strange combo's of rim and hub. No-one knows the exact lenghts in such cases and using a formula or calculator on the web is never 100% accurate. I such cases, i use old spokes, lace the wheel and then i can see exactly wich length i need.

Reason i didn't mention make/type of hub and rim is because it'd irrelavant. I already know my spoke length, and rim/hub is odd combination (rim=Derbi Senda SM moped, hub=CB200) They don't make spokes for that, but i know lots and lots of bikes have 150mm 3,2mm spokes. Just wanna know wich bikes so i can use the spokes. In this case, i'm using the old spokes because the wheel will be coated black. Yeah, i'm going to inspect the spokes for rust real good first ;)

I've been a bike mech for 6 years (laced more then 500 wheels in strangest combinations), and laced more then 50 (including my own XRV750 & MX)motorbike wheels in my life. Don't think lacing will be an issue ;) I know inner and outer spokes have different heads and i know thickness (aka 'gauge') is important.

Due to my experience with wheels i also know most honda bikes have 3.2mm spokes. I have nipples on hand in different spoke thicknesses so it's all good. Thanks for your concerns though! Wheel building is a black art and you can easily damage your bike or yourself if done wrong.

My first post is a bit confusing, but it would be handy to have such a list now that you know why, right?

So, i just need to know wich bikes run 150mm spokes!
