Spraymax over Appliance Epoxy?

Yeah, but then it needs to sit for a week. The only time I've used appliance epoxy I was unimpressed after I sprayed it, but over the course of a week it leveled out, hardened and looked pretty good. I really want to know how the Spraymax works for you. I've got a tank on my Seca II that I can't wait to paint.

Just finished spraying the sucker. I'm hoping it levels out, because there's a patch that don't look so good. Worst comes to worst, I'll just sand it down and put some more layers on.

If you're worried about gas spillage ruining your paint job, clear it with the Spraymax 2K clear. Otherwise, you'll be pissed you didn't, first time you get a couple drops on your fresh refin.

I think you should read the title of the thread...

"Spraymax over Appliance Epoxy"? Yeah, I did. What's your point? My point is, you CAN spray with the epoxy paint AND the Spraymax will go over it, but don't expect the epoxy paint to hold up, by itself. The Spraymax WILL protect the finish in the case of gas spills.

No problem. I figured there musta been a communication error, somewhere. Just wasn't sure on who's side it was. Hope your paint job works out for ya.

I was going to clear over the appliance epoxy this weekend, but I wasn't happy with the amount of orange peel in my color coat and had to sand it down and repaint it. The second layer looks like candy :)

Lookin' good. Patience is key. You did right by not rushing and sanding it. Can't wait to see the end results.

Sorry, I've been busy with college. I only have time to work on the bike during the weekend, and now I have bigger problems in the form of a top end rebuild (quarter-sized hole in the piston.) Tank will have to wait until the summer. Sorry guys.
