well... main shaft bearing removal/install tool, pulley lock, and pulley socket are all on the way... i looked inside the trans from the top cover and could not see anything wrong... i am guessing that it is my shifter drum... but tools are on the way... we will see what happens! 3rd gear is skipping on me... not the clutch... so i am guessing i have a rounded out shifter drum... we shall see
the spines on the shifter are stripped to nothing!...
everything came out really smooth, only special tools i needed was the pulley locking tool and the socket... and to be honest., i did not even have to remove them!
had a buddy that came by and it was nice to have another set of hands for sure!
trans gears out... shifter arms are nice and strait
alright! well HD finally got their stuff together and got me my new shifter drum... installed it all last night! Ooh ya, and i got a new phone, hahaha so the pics are much better now! glad i powdered all the bolts they look so much better now in black... just have to install the pipe, put in the 25* injectors, and decide if i am going to port/polish my Throttle body... then off to the dyno!
now that i got the boards on the bike figured it would be nice to have a heel toe shifter... so i made one...
took a stock shifter, and cut and welded part of my spine from the mid control, being sure to space it off with a washer so the stock spine on the bike would clear
buddy gave me the stock heel kick off his st glide
added some powder to the mix and all done
also pulled the stock throttle body off the bike so tim in the shop could port and polish it and i can powder it to match the tins
Hey Joe, how's the powder hold up on the headpipes? Is it something like a Jethot coating?
I was thinking about having the chrome 4-1 on my CB750 coated in a silver. (Maybe something that looks like stainless?)
Could you give me ballpark pricing on something like that?
Obviously it's something you could do, and I wouldn't have a problem shipping it to you. But would it be worth it? Or would it be more economical to try and find somebody local to me?
My pipe is not coated the heat shields are... for the actual pipe you need to use a high temp
for color like that man you have to have ceramic then polished out... to do the actual pipe you have to coat in high temp, only comes in silver, black (gloss and flat) and white...
here is the header we shot for my brothers bike in gloss high temp
well got the trans back in... buttoned it up... had a photo shoot for a music video and they wanted to use my bike and my brothers for a few shots... so i did not install the throttle body/injectors yet or have it dyno'd... the shoot was only about 10 miles from my house so we rode there... love the sound of this pipe can not wait to have it tuned... it really is not popping or crackling so the tune in there now is not very far off... but here are some pics i snapped when we stopped to grab something to drink
ill get pics up of the video and other pics taken by the photographer when they are back from editing
well a bit back we took a stock throttle body and in the shop we ported and polished it, then coated it... we do hundreds of these for cars but figured we should try it out on the bike... (we now offer this as an exchange program and have one in stock ready to go)
got it installed this weekend with my buddy, when he came by... nice to have another set of hands while doing this... but bike goes into the dyno Fri so ill have results as well...ooh ya also upgraded to the 12* injectors
well.. the numbers on the dyna are in! went from 88 TQ and 94HP to 103tq and 98HP... gained 15tq!!!! this sucker is going to be so much fun to ride... did not hit the 100 mark but the 15 gain and 4 on hp made all the work worth it... pick her up Fri morning!!!
the tuner said that he was VERY VERY impressed by the numbers on the TQ side and did say that he feels that was mostly to do with the better flow though the tb... so that was nice to hear...
Throttle body, went from 8* injectors to 12*, and the pipe... that is all... gained 15 on the tq from just that! simply awesome... this thing is going to pull like a rocket! all that out of a 95' i am very very pleased!
hahaha i have rode them, HATE HATE HATE the ride and over all look... i will keep my love for polaris to snowmobiles hahaha well even if i jumped ship this year and built an arctic cat hahaha
