57hp.....?

Dyno chart printout.....?

Guess work....?

Standard head ports and 36mm carb.....?

More than a Manx Norton.....?

Yea I'd be very surprised if you've got 57hp.. I spend alot of time on the SR500 forum and that's pretty much unobtainable, especially with the poor intake port design. Maybe 45hp. Using a VM36 and not even and FCR39, though.. such a high peak HP figure doesn't seem right. I don 't believe the guys who are actually racing these engines are getting HP like that, and they aren't worried about getting street worthy reliability out of them. Road racing, flat track, etc.

Also, for any high output compression overbored SR, the jug needs to be reinforced with through studs etc, from the head down through to the case, or it will fail (split) eventually.

Maybe the guys that did this work know something nobody else does.. there's always a chance!

Dyrden where are you at? I'm in the US on the East Coast. I might be parting with mine...

Im down in Miami. Going to be headed to the Barber Vintage fest if youll be there. Let me know.

Oh, we'll be there! Last year we were set up with Dime City Cycles, Loaded Gun Customs, Cafe Racer TV and Ace Cafe up on the hill for a cafe racer area. Bike show, live music, hot girls on a golf cart... was all good. This year should be even better with Triumph as the manufacturer sponsor.

Cool. I know Jason and Herm. I hung out with them at the Duncan Quinn event here in Miami. Ive already taken that week and weekend off from work. If you got an SR you want to move lets make it happen. Of course Id like some photos etc.

More projects to see what I can turn one into.

LOL... I’m sure every racer who puts so much time, hard work and MONEY into modifying and building these engines would love to know that all you have to do is leave it stock internally and run it on a car dyno. Easily doubles your horsepower!

From the guy in the comments section “The engine is an import, never been opened! Its alot stronger then other sr500's but like i said i will believe the numbers 100% when i put it on a bike dyno!” So either somebody did some amazing work, or it’s stock. I’d bet it’s stock.

It makes 32 hp at the crank, so the stock figures would say. That’s like 25 at the wheels?

The SR engine is nowhere near a high strung high maintenance modern 450, and THEY are making figures like that.

No way is that SR 500 on the Dyno pumping out that much unless it is 720cc,got 20% nitro in the alky and is ready to grenade at 7K.Dyno figures from dynos that are not the industry standard MC dyno, the Dynojet dyno, are worth just about zero. That car dyno needs calibration.Put it on a real bike dyno like one of these:

Get off my nuts man!! You were told off in the other bike topic http://www.dotheton.com/forum/index.php?topic=36592.20

This is getting fucking annoying, who really cares if I post a dyno or not you'd still have some bullshit comment
