Starter solanoid

Well my problems carry on now having bother getting my starter motor to work when I press the starter button the solenoid just clicks any ideas .I've got a good earth from engine mount To battery .solenoid wired one wire to starter button other wire to earth .then thick cable to battery other one to starter motor .

Solenoids do fail - easy to replace thankfully. The click is likely the solenoid functioning but not making the connection between the battery and starter motor.

With a large enough cable you could jump the solenoid and bridge the lead from the battery to the starter motor cable, bypassing the solenoid to emulate it functioning, ruling out other issues.

Swapped the battery now working .
