Subframe mounting - weld or bolt

I'm to the point on the bike where I'm building the rear subframe. The bike lived a former life as a Virago 920, but is changing quite a bit. The tank sat way too slanted, so I formed up a 3" tall riser and welded it to the frame. Now I'm looking at attaching the subframe. There will be 4 attachment points, two to this new riser frame, two to the original mount points. The original mounting is a no brainer to bolt on, but the new mount to the riser would be much easier to weld on. Any preferences out there? Thanks.

You would want to go either one way or the other (IE don't mix up welded and bolt-on mounts), and I would be inclined to go with bolt-on. That way if you muck it up you can unbolt it and modify or if the subframe gets damaged it would be easier to fix/modify/repair.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking, just trying to be lazy. I looked at it last night and think I figured a fairly simple way to bolt the whole thing on. The toughest part is going to be fixturing the frame up on the drill press to drill it accuratly. Thanks again for the comment.
