Suggest me a small sealed battery

I need to get a battery for my cb450. No more electric start, and I'm only running a headlight and tail light. I'm guessing a 12v 6ah battery would be just fine. I'm looking for a compact maintenance free battery. It is going to be mounted near the swingarm mount, so post position isnt important since I'm making the cables anyway. So, suggest me a good one please!

cool, I'll check into that brand.

About batteries, after looking around it seems crazy to me how many options for seemingly the same size. I was under the impression to look for 12v 6ah battery, then there is all these extra bits of info like cca and whatever. Should I be concerned with that, or is a 12v 6ah battery pretty standardized and the other stuff refers to just the packaging size?

the cheapest one you can find on ebay or amazon. just make sure the seller has a good rating. havent had a problem yet.

CCA or Cold Cranking Amps relates to the capacity of teh battery to start a bike. The amount of guts it's got so to speak.

Typically higher CCA means a larger battery and that also means higher amp hour rating, but not always. Battery dimensions are usually quoted in the ads or go to Yuasa and get m\dimensions of find teh same battery on ebay and see what size it is.

If you plan of doing some street riding at low speed/revs with lights on, go for the largest (CCA) battery you can squeeze in. If it's all high speed daylight runs where the battery is always being charged, you could get away with less reserve ie a smaller battery.

i don't know honestly. I'm having some issues with the bike and I really can't believe it would be the battery. I'm only running a headlight and tail light, so with this ah on the battery I should be fine, but I've had some issues with dimming. So once I look into it further I would have a review. Maybe I need a new stator???

I'm in the process of tuning my carbs to get mixture and sync correct, and the current installed battery is in need of replacement, so I can't speak to battery issues or experiences yet. Thanks for the word back, and good luck!

Hi there,

There's a guy "Maviryk" over on SVRider.com that makes small batteries in varying configs for guys with track bikes, modded bikes etc. Has a good rep on the forum. Might be worth contacting him for another option....

I have no personal experience of smaller batteries but thought I'd chuck it in for consideration.

Here's his website, just found it so posting it up. http://www.mavirykdesign.com/

thanks, but I already got a battery. I'm having other elctrical issues, in which I mean to say rectifier before, and not stator.
