The date and location have been chosen.

June 1st - 3rd at The Tail of the Dragon.

We will be staying at the Punkin Center Motorcycle Resort near Maryville TN.

I will actually be arriving Thursday night to have an extra day of riding around the beautiful mountains.

We will be renting the bunk house at the resort which sleeps 4 - 8. If you want to stay there let me know. Otherwise, you are responsible for reserving your own cabin or RV spot. Tenters can just show up.

So it is time again to plan the summer get together. People have thrown out ideas and now it is time to vote on where we want to go.

The choices are (in alphabetical order):

1. The Dragon (Tennesse)
2. The Ozarks (Missouri)
3. Red River Gorge (Kentucky)
4. Skyline Drive (Virginia)

Some info about each location is linked below. If you have more info you want me to link to post it and I will add it to this post.

Please vote for where you would like to go in the poll above.

I understand these are all near the east coast and would leave out a bunch of our west coast brothers (and non-US friends). With the scattered locations of our members, it is nigh impossible to pick a spot that is convenient for everybody. There has already been a discussion of a get together at Bonneville this year. Anyone is welcome to plan their own Summer GTG in another spot.

After the location is selected, we will vote on when to go.

I shouldn't have to say this, but if you are not planning on going to this, please do not vote.

Really tough decision!! If it is anywhere but Missouri ill do my best to make it. Nothing wrong with the Ozarks, I hear they are gorgeous... just a little far for me right now :/

As much fun as we had last year in Tennessee, that red river gorge looks mighty fun.

Me and the Cleveland boys are in the same situation. Shit is SUPER busy here. The early Cleveland spring has Phil slammed at the shop plus he opened a second shop. He's got Shane and I filling in whatever time we can aside from our regular jobs. We assumed the Dragon this year but Kentucky or Virginia would be do able. I would LOVE to hit the Ozarks but that would be pushing our range I think. I placed my vote. Thanks Flug for manning up on the logistics yet again.

That's kinda where I am at this point. Got SHIT tons going on, so I voted purely on what would be the easiest for me to get to.

That's what I did. I don't care as long as the good folks are theere ot hang and ride with. But closer means easier to get time off and get too it. One long day can get me to the Skyline drive. 1300 KM's 780 miles puts me at the nothern tip in Fredericks MD. According to the Wiki.

Bump for any last minute votes. Poll closes this afternoon.

Be thinking about when you want to go. Once the place is decided we will see what weekends are available there and then vote on them. Would people be interested in Memorial Day weekend? I know a lot of people already have plans and the place we want to go may already be booked.

I'm thinking it will be sometime in June.

Just a thought in case people were planning on hitting any of these events.

Wish I could make it down this summer, but with family vacations, Utah in August and Alabama in October I'm pretty much tapped out.

Alright, The Dragon is the clear winner. I am going to make a command decision and say we are staying at the Punkin Center again. I will contact Jodi to see if there are any weekends that are booked already and then we can discuss when this will be.
I will also make sure we can all stay at the main site this time. I believe there is a "bunk house" there, though not as cool as the "Ho-stell" some of us stayed at last time.

So from the vote count looks like 21 people are commited for sure to make it and there will likely be some added and subtracted depending on dates. Thanks Fluge for setting up the pole etc. I think for the dragon I will pull the seats out of the civic and drive it down with the 450 in the back, that way I won't be as tired when I get there. Pending dates, I am 90% I will get there this year. If it was may 18-20 I would have the bst chance as I will be on a family vacation in NH and 1/3 of the way there. I could cut the vacation short by 2 days and ride down, or see if the wife can extend and come and do some site seeign while we ride!
