Swapping out Air Forks?

Been Around the Block
Hey guys. I'm currently building a '81 CB750C and was trying to figure out what to do about the air forks. They do hold pressure and work just fine, but was wondering if I should replace them to get better performance/handling out of the bike.

Can I just swap forks off a similar year CB750 without the air assist and put in some good progressive springs? Or, should I just stick with this setup until later on and then do a modern front end (GSXR/CBR600) swap?

service them and spend the money on swingarm bushings and good quality rear shocks
how hard do you plan on riding ?

Thanks for the advice. Will go ahead and do that. I'm not planning on crazy riding, just cruising around town, the gym and back, some nightly cruises, and maybe cruising up in the twisties.

They perorm fine for all but the hardest performance riding. The "adjustability" is nice, lower pressure = softer ride, air them up for a stiffer front or two up cruises.

No reason to ditch them if they hold air. They work very nice except, like Hoosier said, in all but the most extreme riding situations.
