Tank choices for my cb350...

Hey guys. I've been gone for a while trying to get my old Ford back on the road, and doing side jobs to get the $$ to do it. So, I'm getting back into my cb350 project. First off, I HATE the '72 CB tank. Looks like a wide-ass broad sittin' between my legs. I almost went with a 350F tank, but was sold out from under me. What other cool tanks have you guys found that don't take too much fabbing to fit, and look great? I don't really have other tanks or bikes to test fit, so I'm hoping to find some inspiration here to direct me to my perfect tank. I like tanks a bit narrower than stock,a little higher, squarish with slight knee indentations. Pretty much a cb350f, but there may be others that would work even better. Hell, I'm even thinking about getting a nice early CL350 tank, but have seen so many variances that I'm not sure what year to look for! Thanks in advance guys. Pics would be great!-Mike

The later round CB350 tank is one of the nicest from Honda. How about an early 350 tank with the knee rubbers? They're just harder to find.

Hey Mike I have a 73CL350 with a late 60's CB350 tank. IMO if I didn't have this tank I would go the Benelli Mojave route. I really like the look of keeping it all Honda all the time.

Yes, I still have the original tank,no rust nor dents. I just don't like the shape. JF, thats one of the early tanks I was thinking about. Nice shape & should fit without issue. I've seen others that are the same basic shape, but no wing emblems. While searching for early CB/CL tanks, I've seen different tanks for the same year/model bike so I'm not sure what the deal is. I'll do a search I post a couple pics of what might work. In case anyone does have an extra older tank, lmk. Thanks!

Mike I had no problems mounting that tank. It slid right into the bushings up front and the strap in the rear. Good luck finding one, if I hear or see one I will pm you. One of these days I"ll have to get down to the bone yard in Decauter.

Hey Mike,

I'm actually going to upload some new pick of a CB400 tank that I'm putting on my bike. I got rid of the top tabs that use to hold on a leather piece and bondoed up the side logo mounts. And with very little fab work its fits just fine. Check it out when you get a chance.

Just checked out your thread. Great looking tank! The CB400 is one of the tanks I've been considering. Nice to see it isn't a PITA to get it fitted. I'll be checking in on your progress. Busy here at work, but I'll post other tank ideas soon...

These are a few tanks I've seen members install on a CB/CL350. Just gotta see which ones need a lot of fabbing up & if I can even find one. LMK if anyone may have one for sale.
