I am building a cafe style bike from an XS 650. I am going to use a XS 750 tank which I have already acquired. I want to add some tank knee pads but most pads don't really follow the lines of the tank very well or have some manufacturers name embossed in them. Has anyone ever made their own tank knee pads and if so can you describe what materials were used?
It looks to me they could be cut out of some rubber and adhered to the tank.
