Tarozzi Lo Rises Stuck

manualofman

i always wind up with extra bolts leftover..
While tearing down my front end, I took off the Tarozzi Lo-Rise clip on's I had put on this summer. But the two pieces, the top portion (clamps handle bar) won't come apart from the bottom portion (clamps fork tube).

I've tried soaking them in PB Blaster and lightly boiling them, but these buggers won't come apart...even tried lightly banging with a rubber mallet. I'm pretty stumped since these are molded aluminum, so they couldn't have rusted inside the joint.

I'm guessing they're just stuck from being pressed together from when you tighten them down (those of you that have them know that you've gotta tighten the sh*t outta them).

I don't want to put to much stress on them on them in case they crack. Anybody got any suggestions?

All the bolts are out and they won't even budge? You sure have some nerves of steel Man I would have beat them with the biggest hammer I have in the shop .....Maybe try wrapping them in some rubber inner tube then beating them more

Haha, I've busted far too many things on this build with brute force so far so I'm treading carefully.

But all the bolts are out and it won't move an inch. My other handlebar came apart fine too. Just going to soak em in some Simple Green and try wrapping them like you said.

put a screwdriver in the slot for the clamp, give it a little wedge, it should pop free

Yep. Went through the same thing yesterday. A little bit of heat (as in heat gun) goes a long way too.

Got them off with a soak, using RCC's screwdriver trick, some heat, and then a firm whack on the side the bolt enters. It went flying.

I noticed on the inside there is definitely a spot where the two pieces got stuck. May just be from a slight tolerance issue with one side.

Thanks guys
