And so it begins, I spent about a day trouble shooting the "new" cb360 to get her to run.
Ended up being a frayed wire coming from the points - after they were patched, she came to life and everything works and it runs fairly well.
So then I tore down both 360's and am beginning to scheme my next project. I am thinking a Royal Blue & White paint scheme - like the classic cobra 427 color combo. I am going to place an order for some parts today.
Is Dime City the best place to get clubmans? Here are some pics of the weekends progress
I've carved out some time lately to devote to the new build. Life is so busy, just have to keep pushing back!
I stripped/primed & Painted the frame/swingarm, and misc parts.
Also cleaned up the wheels - amazing what a little elbow grease can do - they have a nice look to them.
Today is my daughter's 5th birthday, so last night I assembled her new bike - She digs it!
Anyhow - more to come...
BTW - I talked to Crash and he quoted me some sick prices on some of the parts that I need, I am going to stop by Swifty's Shop this weekend and pick up the clubmans and order some tires.
Had a lot to do this weekend, so did not get much done on the bike.
Drained the oil from the engine, removed the cases so that I can polish them.
Need to research some engine pics to inspire engine paint schemes, etc.
Also need to make it over to Swifty's to get some parts ordered - moving too slowly on this !
My Daughter Loves to ride my bikes with me (around the block of course)
I am in the market for an old Honda Z50 (hopefully a running one in rough shape, so we can rebuild it together)
And I got some polishing on the engine done last night, I still love what a little (a lot) of elbow grease can do.
Yes, I did mount high foot pegs just for her to be able to ride. I used the shock bolt to hang them from, and after we are done riding, I just pop them off and store them on the shelf with her helmet.
She was very disappointed when I got the cb360 road worthy and it had no "good" spot for her.
I prefer to have her in front of me, but that is impossible on this bike. Check out that smile on her face!!
Dropped by Swifty's and met "Crash" today and picked up the clubmans, so I get to continue the work tonight!!!
Gonna drill and run the wiring thru the bars (or swap out the bars on my current ride, as I deleted all wiring in the bars except for the horn button - the clubmans I have on it are already drilled for wires...)
Swifty's Shop in Fort Worth is a gem - No BS, just drop in and get what you need or they can order it - only wish they were closer to my casa.
Fox - yeah, I expect that my daughter will want a moto, my only rule - she must build it herself (with my help of course)
and thanks for the props on the garage - I spend a lot of hours out there, so it is a work in progress - just like the moto's that are in it.
No new pics, but a lot of work completed over the last couple of nights.
I gotta say - I love bringing an old bike back to life, and it seems like so many people out there just do not have it in them to do so - looking at craigslist...
Last night I Boiled 2 racks of Carbs in lemon juice, my wife did not care for the smell...
I started to disassemble the front brake system to rebuild, the front caliper is currently soaking as it is frozen solid.
Painted my sweet exhaust with some flat black high heat paint, polished the headers & dozens of bolts and nuts
Ordered a new seat cover online and a gasket set for the motor.
I am soaking it in a PB Blaster type lubricant. So far, I have not gotten it apart, but I will get there.
I am going to order a rebuild kit today, so I have some time.
I always use my air compressor with a air nozzle to push the piston out of the caliper, and this is the first one I have had an issue with.
