Texting while riding

yeah when that a hole hits a bump and his dolled up harley gets wrecked he'll have learned a hard lesson. I always hate when my wife knows i am out riding and she calls my phone.

Is it a bad thing, that I have a burning desire to pass these guys on the white line at about 15mph + their speed and pull their right grip forward? :p

Why would you want to turn his bike into yours at speed? :p

He's not texting, but I thought it was stupid enough to warrant a post.

65mph highway btw.

Yeah. Doubt those DOT certified half faces would help much in a 65mph collision. Let's be honest.

You sir.... should be no where near a bike if thats you thinking. (said w/ the most respect and care for another person)

I may not be a smart man, but, I KNOW a full face and some leathers are safer than my usual T-shirt and levi's.

So I should never be near a bike. Did I comment and say I rode like that? No I didn't. I ride with gear. Seeing as how a helmet is the number one required safety equipment then I would say yes at least they have that on. Not everybody is racer. I'm just speaking from personal experience working in 911 that 75 percent of the wrecks I go on including motorcycles traveling over 65mph end in death or being a vegetable. Two months ago we had a guy in full gear hit a deer at approx. 80mph. He expired. The point of the story is that pic doesn't belong this thread. Texting on a motorcycle is stupid and dangerous to yourself and others. But a couple going for a cruise w/out gear is not endangering me at all.

I was basing that on my personal experience with wrecks I've worked with people wearing full gear. On the other comment I'm glad I'm not too because you don't seem very fun.

Obviously you cant read the statement that says I do wear gear. But anyways I'll stole this from the other thread where this picture should be posted. "With regard to what other riders wear, that doesn't piss me off at all. It's their life and body, who am I to impose my views on them. I don't understand the reasoning but its their choice. " Why spend so much time of your life worrying what others do if it doesn't affect you. Jeez if y'all wanna post pics of those clowns riding with just a helmet on I'll start a thread and post about 200 pics a day.

Fair enough dude. "full face and leathers aint gonna help you anyways" Pretty silly thing to put up in font of 1600 + readers. Obviously I miss understood that you were all the gear....? people

Feels like beating a dead horse but ill say it again. Some people wear full gear some dont some wear full face some wear 3/4 or 1/2 helmets but we all take risks every day. If we weren't willing to take some risk none of us would ride a motorcycle in the first place. Its just a matter of the amount of risk we are willing to take. When not if we crash at some point in our lives we will more than likely get hurt some worse than others. Its just a matter of pleasure vs risk. If you are on 2 wheels and having a good time I dont care what you ride or what you wear if you aren't endangering me or others just enjoy every day you can.

fair enough, I hope I'm beating a dead horse by advocating "minimising the risk". I ride in what ever I feel adequate. But I'll be the 1st to admit it's not safest if it's not. And do not advise the risk onto others...? Are we on the same page? I could PM a few respected members that will agree that suggesting leather and a full face is worthless on a board where 1000's come to learn, is RETARDED! so be it. This is all in text, for others to read. I'm sure my point will shine through...

Infact, people please chime in and help this person understand that is probably the worst advice that can be given to a fellow cyclist.

Agreed 100% I would never ever tell someone to take off their gear just because I ride in a tshirt boots jeans and a half helmet. In fact I know im a hippocrit about it but when my lady rides with me she is not allowed on without full gear head to toe
