They certainly had panache back then!

You have a couple there that look like my first helmet, but not quite...

Nice lid collection DrJ, some funky looking helmets there. Do you still wear any of these? They must be quite a conversation piece if you do.

Is that fighter jet style helmet an actual motorcycle helmet? Pretty cool looking.

Yes I wear these helmets when I'm riding the 350. No, I have never been busted for using a non-DOT lid. The pilot helmet is a genuine Chinese air force lid. There's a lot of military surplus from China and you can find them on ebay for reasonable prices. It's actually a very high quality helmet with clear and smoke visors that flip down.

love the first helmet with red flames and white stitching on the edge guard. sweeeet!

Yeah, that's one of my favourites. The first 3 flame helmets are Arais. I'm trying to get one of every colour they produced and I still need a yellow and green. The fullface flame is very rare, the only one I've seen so far. Hey Benji, do you collect any old gear?

just one buco helmet. I'm looking for vintage goggles that are comfy to wear though. Cant seem to find one. Currently i'm using my Scott MX googles but doesnt really look nice with my helmet.

Amazing collection! How long has it taken you?

I bought my first 2 glitter lids at the Goodwill for $5 each about 7 years ago, then a couple more here and there at various swap meets. The ones in the pics I bought off ebay from around 2004-2006. I bought a lot of helmets back then. Soon after the collector market exploded and prices went sky high so I've backed off quite a bit recently. There will always be a helmet I want but I do have limits.

WAIT WERE YOU ON THAT SHOW IN THE 70'S SHAZAM.. I do believe you were come on fess up.
Disco till you die dr. J great start to the show

Neat helmet collection.
I used to sport a blue and silver metal flake(I believe Bell) back when I was a teen on my dirt bikes. Of course I had the "Bubble" shield too I felt like an Astronaut or a deep sea diver when I wore it!
