The Official 2011 DTT Summer Get-Together Thread, Maryville TN, July 29-31

Hell yeah, that's what I'm talkin' about. BTW the shakedown ride went damn near flawless, even at highway speeds I got a thumbs up from passing cars. So ready for this.
 
Well guys, I've already told some of you, but I wont be making it to this one due to my wife's niece. Gonna be hanging close to home.......

But is there anybody around that can deliver a muffler to the GTG? It's the chrome MAC one- about 17" long and a couple pounds. Some of you may have seen Jewbacca's weight reduction plan on his bike that didn't work out so well.......re MAC is for him.

If somebody could let me know sooner rather than later, I would appreciate it.
 
I am depressed, ticked and just plain bummed out. The wife is down hard and having surgery. I'm having to sit this one out guys. If anyone is rolling through Franklin, TN on I-65 on the way, gimme a shout. If anyone has any issues and far from home, my shop is open and free for use if necessary. Always a good idea to have a backup plan for our old girls.
 
Really sorry you won't be making it Rich. egardner1970, hope the surgery goes ok for your wife. I'm pretty sure we'll be passing thru your way, so thanks for the offer of help =)
 
any more thought on lodging and acomodations, i know im planing to stay in the hostel..but with some people opting out of comming, I wonder about the price for it now?
 
We have the entire hostel. Wether we fill it up or not is up to us. He gave me up to a week ahead of time to cancel the reservation. That was last Friday. I don't know if Jody will give us a break or not on the price if it is not full. I'm hoping some of the tenters decide they they need some A/C. It isn't that much more than a tent spot and you don't need to lug your tent with you.

BTW, since someone will probably get there before me, the hostel is reserved under my name (Michael Sch.......). I don't know if he put DTT on the reservation or not.
 
BTW, Nixon is running fairly well. I have 40 miles on her since Sunday. I have been having some idle issues that I think I have sorted out.

Can't wait! Only 4 days to go!

yeah if you want send me a pm with the details of that, im planning on showing up sometime thrusday, it will probably be later in the afternoon... I was just wondering if it were still $40 or if i needed to come off some more moldy cash
 
A/C would be nice, but I snore like a freight train and I'd feel bad subjecting everyone to that racket, unless I'm not the only one, in which case ill take a hostel bed.

It wont matter, im planning to pass out drunk, your snoring is the least of my worries... but really, you should crash in teh hostel that way we can keep the cost down..hell its only a few bucks more for ac. that should be worth the aditional cost easy!

HAHAHA, Me and my 2 pals do as well so we'll sleep with the bears (and most likely sound like them).


So far it seems we have just over 30 people. Does that sound about right? Can't wait to hit this. We're trying to recruit a few more Cleveland boys. We'll see what happens.
 
look like 3-4 riding down from pittsburgh. going to be a couple more late nighters trying to get everything together.
 
Just got done chatting with Troy on the phone, now I am even more bummed i am missing this. Was real nice to hear his voice though and I am scrambling to see if I can make M&R PA! Got to go time the big girl now.

Have fun guys and I want to see pics up bright and early Monday morning! Ha Ha

There is just a total price for the hostel and I think I divided the price he quoted me by 10 or 11 to get $40. On the website it says $175 plus tax per night. I think it is a high hotel tax. I can't remember the final price. So if less people stay in the hostel, the price will go up. I was going to ask the tenters to chip in some since they would be using our bathrooms/showers.


Another thing to note, if you are riding in. They sell food and beer at the place. You can get beer by the 6pack or on tap. They have a little restaurant too. So if you are riding, you don't need to bring drinks/food. If you stay in the hostel, you don't need a tent. All I'm bringing is some clothes and some tools.

I'm coming in Friday afternoon.
 
k lemme know about it....anyone comming down thursday night? if we're shooting for friday, im gonna stay with a buddy thursday night in south knoxville
 
My buddy and I are pulling in late Thursday. We're tenting, but I'm sure we can prolly chip in a little for you pampered folks :)
 
The girls at work decided to celebrate the GTG with an informational poster after they heard I'm sharing a tent with my buddy from work.
