This sounds like it's right up DTT's alley. I'll definitely be going.
There are some well known builders in the area showing bikes. Check out the site page.

THE SHOW
Funny thing about motorcycles, when you get one, you want two. When you get two, you want ten. Then one day you have ten motorcycles and you start to think about how to combine all the bikes into one bike. Not literally combine the parts into one bike, but take all the knowledge you have accumulated and build one bike that encompasses your vision of the ideal bike.
The ONE Bike.
Featuring 50+ vintage and modern custom motorcycles from top of the line race bikes to a steam bike. The show starts at 5:00 pm and goes to 1:00 am.
Plenty of on street parking. Ride your motorcycle.
Admission is free.
Beverages are a buck or $4 with a custom One Show coozy
I wouldn't say it's "not kid friendly", but it's set up in doors like a art gallery showing in an old building. Lots of people, cheap PBR, lots of valuable things in arms reach....I guess it would really depend on the age and maturity of the kid. I can say there will be lots of smoking and swearing out front ;D
That's a good question. I'd email them via the website for the show. I don't recall seeing any kids last year so you never know. I'll be honest, it's a cool show, but the cafe scene is much bigger in Seattle and I'm not sure I'd drive down just for the show, you guys would likely have more fun at one of the Ballard bike nights (Backfire), just my 2 cents
i'd love to. i rode to portland on my '72 cb350 a few years ago... blew a piston on the way home, had to bus it back. my motorcycle is my only motorized vehicle and i don't have enough confidence in it to make the trip. gack. wish i could.
I don't think I'd ride a 350 down here from Seattle in February....especially not for what looks to be a somewhat small get together. If you had a couple of friends to carpool with chipping in on gas it could be a fun night though.
Indie, well I will be working before the show. I get off @5pm so I think I will take a car over to the show. Im not real comfortable riding @ night just yet.
Although, depending on the weather. Betsy might wanna come out!
I just got home from this (Portland is about an hour down the slab from me). Really a neat event with some really neat iron. Some Brats, some choppers, lots of cafe's, a couple of very nice BSA's and a gaggle of ducatis!
I will try to post up a few pics when i get to my other computer. Really neat venue too. Felt very much like a high end art gallery.
I didn't take too many pictures, and this is certainly just the tip of the iceberg . . .
An Old Yamaha MX - the same tank that started out as my signature grapic!
A really nice, clean Yamaha twin. Very well executed.
A bicycle powered by a Honda 50 or 70 based horizontal engine.
An exceptionally clean Honda with some really stunning metal bending.
A neat twin two stroke (I think it was a Yamaha) done by a shop named twinline in portland who had several bikes of nice quality on display.
A Yamaha with some of the nicest design lines of anything there.
Even the parking lot yielded a number of interesting bikes even though it was drizzling out in Portland last night . . .
The pictures do not do the show justice, as there were some amazing bikes there. Hopefully one of the other inmates here will post up some shots. There were lots of cameras flashing. Very crowded and a neat event that bears a return next year!
