I now have a solid base you can actually walk on. Not just the tin on stringers. I only got one side finished last weekend. The other side is being done this weekend. When completed, it'll be a 1/2" thick plywood base, tarpaper, and then the corrugated tin. Here's a pic of the contrast between sides...

If it leaks after all this? I'm gonna pull a "Brad" and bulldoze the fucker!

Re: The Aviary?

It only counts if you put the roof on three other houses that never get finished and one awesome house that burns to the ground

Re: The Aviary?

Re: The Aviary?

There's been a few really heavy thunderstorms roll through this week, and No Leaks! Yay Me!!!!
Gotta get the door fab'd up, and then some trim work, followed by some paint, and she should be good to move in :D

Re: The Aviary?

So SHINY! Looking great, can't wait to see it. Are you leaving the inside with studs or you insulating and hanging sheetrock?

Re: The Aviary?

Eventually the inside will get insulated but I'll probably finish it with particle board. My plan is to make it much closer to "home" than "shed".

Re: The Aviary?

Well you should, it does after all house your "other" sweetheart.. I'm sure it will look nice either way, plus if you don't like it you can redo it like the roof. /: haha!

Re: The Aviary?

"Pout House"... that's a new one! Funny too :D

I'd think that Toy Box, Rocker Locker, or even Spank Tank would be more fitting :p :D

Re: The Aviary?

Still moving along. Albeit slowly. Corrected the ill fitted trim issue today. Guaranteed no leaks now ;)
I've got all the lumber I need to frame up and fabricate the door. And I picked up a sliding latch (commonly used on roll-up doors) and locking handle assembly so I'll be able to lock this box up.
And the obligatory pic...

Sorry, no pic of the Supervisor. I think he stepped out for one of those "3 martini lunches" ::)

It's looking AWESOME. I think you should host a DTT gtg ;)

Re: The Aviary?

A "Cajun GTG" was actually discussed a while back. I could definitely host a riding tour and show off antebellum plantations, above ground cemeteries, and the French Quarter. But sadly, the "riding experience" down here kinda sucks compared to what most of y'all are used to. It's largely flat, and generally straight roads in these parts. But hey, the food is awesome, the people are friendly, and the bars never close :D

If y'all show some interest, I'm sure we could be accommodating ;)

Re: The Aviary?

Heehee... I've told E on several occasions, y'all need to come down here and get a real Pat O's Hurricane ;)
