I second the motion. All in favor?

Also back to Romero. He's stated many times that all his concepts in his zombie films have stemmed from modern concerns with civilization. He even said the zombies themselves represent the utter extreme of democracy: a group of people en mass that are so occupied with their primary need (in this case, hunger) that literally all other issues are ignored.

I would argue the opposite. Seems more like a lack of democracy where the greater good is ignored for the individuals advancement. If they had a collective goal in mind it would resemble communism I guess, but a democracy would take a structure of some kind. Zombies definitely represent anarchy to me, destroying every system of government they encounter. In modern flicks government and structure, e.g. humanity are destroyed by a ravenous tide oblivious to convention and courtesy. The survivors are left to reestablish the mechanics of society.

Droppin some knowledge son! Very cool, but be careful... When Romero speaks, people listen... :D

Most geniuses are half crazy. I wouldn't accept directions from Einstein, and Van Gogh isn't the dude to ask to lend an ear on heartache issues. That doesn't take away from what they do, just food for thought.

Thread from the DEAD.

New ZOMBIE Series on AMC ... OCT 31.

talk about a thread coming back from the dead....kind of appropriate really.....
Looks like a show I might be interested in.

I am volunteering at a HUGE haunted house this year as a free roaming zombie, Hollywood grade makeup job and all. Next year I'll get in on fabrication as well, no time to get in on it this year....
Last time I did a haunted house I made a lady pee herself.

It was AWESOME!!!!!!

There was a scary-ish scene laid out as a decoy and I was shrouded in black, standing in a corner that was painted black and partially blocked by strips of black cloth hanging in front of me. IR lighting and a digital camera allowed me to be in total darkness but know when people came thru my area. As she passed (by herself no less!!) I quietly stepped out and followed her closely. When she came to the decoy scene a dude in a rubber mask jumps out jibbering at her. She was startled a little...they all were....and took a couple steps back giggling. I let her back into me ever so softly and all I did was exhale in her ear.

I have NEVER heard such a blood curdling scream in my life...ever. It was so bad that she scared a couple other women in completely different areas of our 20,000sq warehouse. Poor thing levitated through the emergency exit (by law we had to have an escape door every 30 feet or 3rd corner.

We had video cameras setup in the waiting area for security and she sprinted out of the building with a very dark patch where her legs met her belly.

I can only hope for this year....

eventually we will run out of ammo... also weapons break.

learn to craft weapons. i think ill do ok in a zombie apocalypse. im in a city though... we get hit hard, and we get hit fast.

if this shit happens, i dont know about you guys, but your like family to me. we need a meeting place. all of us banded together, with out fab skills and determination, can put down everyone. we need go! though...

i call dibs on repopulation with go. :D

You could draw some interesting parallels to the tea partiers. Most are intent on feasting on the status quo with no forethought on a cohesive plan for bringing together their diverse ideas of what should come next. Of course many don't have any plan FOR anything at all -- all they know is their singleminded pursuit of being against. Sounds like Romero had part of it right.

Id think in a city the quick easy solution would be to nuke the place. Better safe then sorry.

MMmmmmmmmmm Zombie pop corn.

my poor cb350....

A bolo and a parang and you're dialed. Guns make noise and will draw the horde to you, though for backup I'll have my 870 slung over my shoulder. Just be sure you're wearing goggles and a splash mask when chopping the shambling dead...the juice is bad news..

Gotta love a nice philipino blade. Might want a couple of classes in Pekiti Tirsia Kali. PTK masters are artisans with a bolo!
