Thinking about '82 Honda 650

Hi guys. I'm looking at picking up a spare bike that will get used occasionally when my brother visits NJ from Cali. I just want something that will run. Getting married soon and don't want to tinker too much.

I came across a 1982 Honda CB650 Nighthawk for 1k. It's garage kept and everything works. Bone stock and looks real nice. However, it has 41,000 miles. My question is: do you think things like cam, cam chain, valves need to be replaced with a bike with that many miles? I do not want to get into an engine rebuild for a bike that won't get used that much. Thanks in advance.

There's really no way to know. If it's been properly maintained over the years, it may be in perfect running condition for miles to come without a rebuild. If it's been neglected, there could be numerous issues. A compression test is the first thing you should do before buying a bike.
