Coast to Coast
Gonna take it apart on Sunday, finally have the confidence to attempt a large-ish project on my own.
Any tips on stripping down a bike? Where to start etc.
Thanks guys

Um there isn't really any trick to it. Just start taking off what you can to so you can get to the stuff underneath. Bag and tag everything. Take lots of pictures as you go.

To get the engine out, I recommend stripping it all down to the frame and the engine. Then lay it on it's side unbolt the engine, and then work the frame off of the engine. It is much easier the get the frame on and off the engine than to get the engine on and off the frame.

I recommend 4 tupper ware bins to separate the parts for the 4 valve assemblies, other than that dont drop the cam chain into the bottom end.

carefully inspect all the cam chain rollers the rubber center sections delaminate from the sprockets or the bushing's

Get a workshop manual, put it beside your bed, read a dozen pages every night before you go to sleep.

You'll be up to speed in a couple of weeks ;)
