tire mounting

Hello,
I had tires professionally mounted today. I have spoked rims off of a KZ440. When the tech was balancing them everything was fine without side to side wobble, but we did notice that the rim seemed to be off center a little up and down. Not much, but could just tell. The rim is in good shape and all the spokes seem to be really strong and tight. Do you see this as a safety concern? Can it be fixed by loosening and tightening spokes? I have not done this before.

thank you for your insight,
Steve

Yes, it can be done by adjusting spokes. In simple terms you tighten the side that's too far out from the center and loosen the ones opposite where the rim is too close to the center. You need a good spoke wrench and it's better to do it with the rim bare. That way you can see if spoke threads start to protrude which could cause a tube to deflate.
