Anyone have any experience with these on a cb 550/750 exhaust? I'm building my own 4-1 that is currently open. Or is it better to build a baffle? I'm going to be running pod filters as well. Thanks....

Anti-reversion cones fit at cylinder head when you have a pipe which is too large diameter
If your building your own system, just use correct size mandrel bent tube.
If you mean reverse cone at end of 'silencer, if you don't have any thing inside expansion cones it will act as an amplifier (if everything is designed correctly)

Ok it was my understanding that torque cones help create back pressure in open pipes....like for guys that add drag pipes. When installed inside the head pipes these cones act to repel the pulse waves as they return to the engine and alter velocity as the gas passes through the narrower passage. I'm actually using stock pipes and modifying them to go into a 4-1 collector. I've actually already fabricated a reverse cone megaphone "muffler".
Here is some info on torque cones. Very popular in the Harley crowd. I'm surprised more japanese 4 guys don't use them.

I know what they are and what they do.
They were used by NASCAR in the 70's and were originally designed for V-8.
Motorcycle world 'discovered' them relatively recently (probably last 10~11 yrs?)
The real reason for using them is pipes that are too large diameter or/and long overlap cams
They are not designed as a 'silencer' for open pipes or to create back pressure.
