Trials and Trial bikes!

TEMP3ST

The New Blood
Sooo.. i think my next purchase will either be a old Katana or a Trials bike

I've always watched video's of trials and i feel like i could have fun with it.

So either i buy a used bike and kinda turn it into a trials or buy a frame and build it from the ground up.

Anyone got suggestions on Models and Frames to look out for?

Any input on trials in general would be awesome too, i'm kinda unaware of everything about it. It just seems like a sport where everything can be turned into a obstacle (which i'm use too, 4 wheeling)

Where are you? My shop mate has a vintage Honda Trials bike for sale. I will get deets and let you know.

How slow can you go? ;)
I love to watch a good trials rider, it's like moto-ballet.

I know! It's amazing to watch they can do with the bike!

Well i don't got the money, but i'm in Washington, Seattle area. I was more wondering what frames are good to build up from, i think 4eyes link will prove useful ;D

The only disapointment from Barber was the trials competition. The course looked like what we ran enduros/MX in back in the 70's here. And I saw three good riders and one I would call inspired.

Then again........maybe I'm just an asshole. ; )

ahh, i love trials. i used to mess around on my friends trial bicycle, and was decent, but i come from a flatland BMX background.

would LOVE to try trials on motorcycle.

How about an old Greeves or a Trials Cub (T20 triumph) for real old school charm. Michael Moore at http://www.eurospares.com/cb160t.htm made a Honda CB160 trials bikes a few years ago. Light weight, plonking performance and lots of ground clearance is the place to start.

I just sold my trials bike. I've never been in to trials riding, but the bike was a cadillac. Lots of fun, and very refined. It was a Honda TLR200.

agreed. danny is simply amazing. a friend of mine got to ride with him one day.... to say the least my friend was speechless for a day, then couldnt stop blabbering on about him.

I've seen that one before.. that guy does some fucking clutch shit. Def want to get my hands on a trials bike too. I've always wanted to learn to do wheelies, indos, and other crazy shit like that, but I really have little interest in the whole stunt bike scene.. so this just seems like a better fit.
