Local client came by for a freshen up on his 2014 triumph. We started with some parts from Kinetic. We usually fab all this stuff up ie: number plate with projectors and such but he [client] was on a time crunch and i have never seen mikes work in person. Soooo...Client pulled the trigger and mike shipped em here quick (even during the delays from the floods in TX) so yay to that!
So all that installed like the speedo relocation, reg rec horn relocation, tag bracket and lights were of good quality decent fitment and pretty painless. I must say, that shits tough.... more on that in a bit.
So the day he brings the bike in for the seat hoop fab and all that jazz he dumps it in our gravel parking lot out back......Mike if you read this .....your parts held up haha. We had to refresh more on the bike than originally planned but hey, weve all done it one or twice [read: countless times]
Long story long, we utilized the factory frame for a huge portion of the rear cutting only a small bit out. Retained the factory electronics tray and all else we could leave original we did. We "dove tailed" the rear so that we could match the radius with the seat via relief cuts and the trusty tig and i bent up a hoop to span the last of the small gap. Slugged, plug welded, then seam welded and smoothed.
