I bought a 2011 Triumph T100. Limited Sixty edition, # 578/600. Problem is, I loved the bike but hated the way it looked. The impression was old, not cool so after many hours of deliberating, I decided to customize her....reasonably extensively.
This is the result and I'm way happier with the looks. Sorry for the crappy pics, I hope to get some more professional photos taken of it soon.
I'm with xb. I never could understand that look. It makes me think someone stole your seat and you covered a plank to put there until your new seat comes in to the dealer. The tank is big and bulbous and the short flat seat just doesn't flow with the rest. But that's just me and nobody cares what I think.

What I am not entirely happy with is the transition between the seat and the tank. The seat maybe should have curved up a little in the front to make the transition more seamless (excuse the pun).
The interesting thing is, this seat is only marginally thinner than the stock seat by about 15mm. Where it is very different is that it is shorter and the tapered edges do give an impression of it being thinner. You can see by the before/after picture attached.
I also got mixed reactions from my last two builds, a KZ400 desert sled and a SR500 Cafe racer......
That's the beauty of custom building, it's very subjective. Some will like, others won't. I'm working on trying not to be overly sensitive on negative criticism.....and finding it difficult, can you tell ???
After posting my comment I went and looked at the stock seat and I will say yours is not that much different than the stock one so my comment can be said about the stock one, it just doesn't flow with the rest of the bike. I'm not sure if it's the seat or that huge, (IMO) ugly tank.
I like the solo seat on the Kawi but the Yami seat looks too short.
With that said, it's you're bike and the only opinion that matters is yours. I could give 2 shits what anyone else thinks of my bike. It's just a plus if you do something that everyone else likes.
I'd say you've done a great job with a difficult donor bike. The overly round shape of the T100 tank isn't classical brat or cafe in style but you've done well with it.
Like you said, perhaps a little more flow off the front of the seat would have helped tie it all together.
Perhaps shorter pipes too, depending how loud you want it?

Agreed, I also think that the Basooka Rocket launchers need to go on a diet. I was trying to picture this bike with curved megaphone mufflers.....not sure.
It can't be too load. I use this bike to go to work and back so I don't want to attract unwanted attention from the coppers.
I think the triumph tank can be made to look like a café tank depending on what seat it is combined, with this bike it hasn't had a great deal done to it but is a lot better than the standard rear fender that to me looks all wrong the problem with these bikes is if you don't wont to cut the frame at the rear its very hard to get the right look I am in the process of doing one at the moment and everything has to be moved and there isn't a universal seat that fits so everything has to be made so I say well done mate.
