TS125 tracker

"get busy living or get busy dying" sr
so this should be interesting.... bought this 76 suzuki ts125 about a month ago. it sat out in the garage for awhile while i tried to figure out what i wanted to do to it. i bought it with a title, but realized all the spots were already signed with no hope of getting a hold of the old people, so... i bought another one in way less desirable condition, but it does have a usable title. the problem with the parts bike is the engine is worthless to me, being a 75, they changed the engine in 76. some parts are interchangable but not many, the frame however is identical. so im good that way. the main bike only has 1500 miles on it. so i want that motor anyway. im really excited about the fact its a two stroke. should have plenty of scooting power! ive managed to find one cafe built from a ts125 but no trackers. so as it sits now. ive got it running (not very well) but then lost spark. i ordered a flywheel pully for it which should be in thursday. i want to get it running well before i do the frame swap. here are some pics when i got it.

Holy crap that thing is clean!

If you have a title why do you need to swap the frame. Seems like a nightmare especially on something so nice. Can't you just take the title and bike to the DMV?

the title is filled out with a seller and a buyer. so i would have to get ahold of the buyer and get a notarized letter from him stating he is giving up his interest in the bike.
so my other option is to get a bonded title, where they give me a title but really run you through the ringer about it. the next best thing is to get a frame with a good title and swap all the parts. the swap wont take long and ill have the frame powder coated anyway. so here are some pics of the frame with a title, a bit rough but seems to be in good shape. have a lot of grinding to do...

Still seems like there'd be an easier way but I'm sure you looked into it. Good luck!

im open to ideas if there are any. maybe someone on here knows. texas seems to be tough about it.

I'm in TX and went the bonded title route. To be honest, it was extremely easy. PM me and I'll walk you through the process.

Were that my bike, I'd buy a spare seat and shave it down a few inches, then recover it. The bike should be done at that point. Let me know if you want to get rid of it in its current condition.

pm sent.. yeah it is in great shape. in fact i havent seen a bike this old in this great of shape without being rebuilt yet. cant believe the od says 1500 miles on it. im very interested chris, thanks for the help.

so hear are some ohlins shocks i found out in a pasture hooked to a husqvarna frame, bought em for $20 bucks and would love to have them rebuilt and used on this bike. we'll see... they are like 18" eye to eye right now, but i see there is an extra spring in there that may be removable. with it gone they are like 13" eye to eye, which is what i need. just not sure if thats possible yet. lots of research to do.

well... still trying to get it running right. i found a sheared off woodruff key on the flywheel so i replaced that. then it sheared it off again. i didnt have the flywheel torqued when i tryed to start it, pretty sure thats why. anyway i ordered a few more keys yesterday so im at a stand still for now. when i do get it started it spits and sputters and misses, sure wish i knew how to operate a volt meter to check the electrical stuff. guess this is as good a time as any to learn.

well... in using my hammer actuated impact, i broke my hand yesterday morning trying to get the spare engine apart. $%#4!!!! so my progress will def. be slowed down. cheers
have i mentioned i hate those dam phillip heads they used on engines back then!

hey the hand is all better now. i ordered my new mx bars for my tracker yesterday. just thought i would post with the good news.

i think your right, it is to nice. i couldnt bring myself to it. so.... i actually gave it to a friend of mine who wants to keep it original and do it right. so, i let him. not sure how to delete a build thread, but this one is not going to happen. im saving its original life. haha i need to find a crappy cb350 to build on, i bought an xs360 but having the same dilemma, its got 3000 original miles and is perfect. why cant i find a crapper???
