Tunable stock exhaust??

Is there anyway I can tune the sound of my stock exhaust to be louder and deeper, or are straight pipes really as bad on the bike as everyone says?

Yea, straight pipes are bad.

You can drill some holes in the end of the muffler, but IMO it's a lot easier to just replace them with some cheap EMGO's or Mac mufflers.

I'm gonna get some good mufflers when I tear it down this winter, I just want something that sounds better than stock for now. I may drill some holes in them and see what happens, I could always weld them back if it sounds like crap.

I think if you are gonna replace them this winter, you shouldn't mess with them now. Only because any changes to your exhaust will affect your jetting. So not only is there the work on the exhaust, but the tuning that follows.
