Picked up a $600 2013 TW200 3600 miles Bobber today. Did not buy it because I like the bobber style, but the fact that it has already been cut up by a previous owner gave me a great platform for my build. Looking to build something like the bike Daryl has in the Walking Dead, also a mix of Dirt Tracker thrown in.
Plans.....
Change handlebars out for some dirt bike bars.
Replace seat that it came with for a original seat, also add a rear subframe to mount the seat.
Add front fender.
Redo the exhaust, I picked up 2 head pipes today and will cut them up to extend the exhaust.
Try to install a 6" Hella offroad light for the headlight.
Acerbis handgaurds.
Build custom airbox for the K&N filter it came with.
Custom AR15 mount.
ETC..............
More
JUST TO CLARIFY... The first 2 pics are the welds of the previous owner that did the conversion.
Got some work done on the rear frame today. I have only welded about three times in my life so please be kind!! I could of went with radius bends in the corners, but I thought my way fit the build a little better. I built up the the welds in the corners, were the frame connects quite a bit to make sure they were strong enough to hold up. So..... should I leave it the way it is or add a diagonal support bar like I showed in the first mock up pic? I will post a pic of what I am talking about.
First off, sorry for the sideways pics. When I download them that's how they come out. Suggestions?
You can definitely see that it is getting good penetration, I am just having a hard time getting my welds to lay flatter.
Thanks for the advice!
