Not much progress, body work is about ready for primer, inner fender is pretty well fitted, plate bracket is still up in the air.
Man I wish renthal made 34 mm clip ons.
Pics:
Gonna spend the day getting everything except the body work and the engine ready for paint.
The hard part is going to be deciding what to paint this stuff with.
Powder, nice rattle can roll cage paint, acrylic enamel or, base clear?
Thanks.
I got everything minus rims and hubs(they are soaking) ready for, probably, powdercoat.
Rims, hubs, inner fender, frame, clamps, fork legs and, some brackets will be black. The fender, gas cap, chain guard, brake linkage and, chain tensioner will be chrome.
This plan will probably change.
My mess:
I am painting everything myself.
I figured what better thing to do while polishing parts then..... let paint dry. I have six hours of sanding in, haven't touched the motor and just on the first brake down.
I have been through several sets on my RD. First the fast from the past set. Didn't work.. ultimately gave them away. I now have the Vintage Smoke Set. Nick is an awesome guy and very helpful. they are the best set out there by far. Here is the link
Any suggestions on paint ? I am torn between my initial plan of dark metallic green with a light green for some numbers and the brown on the side cover.
Going to the paint store tomorrow.
