Using a Kawasaki control on a Honda, Wiring help

Been Around the Block
I've got a Kawasaki left control with Lights ON/OFF and HI/LO. Also has turn signals and horn, but I believe I have those figured out.

Kawasaki
Lights ON/OFF: Brown- Red/White
Lights LO: Red/Yellow- Red
Lights HI: Red/Black- Red

Right signal: Gray- Orange
Left signal: Green- Orange
Horn: Gray- Ground to control

I'm trying to use this on a CB350. My right control has Kill switch and Start button only(I have this side figured out).
I got this out of my parts bin and don't have reference as to what year or model, but I do know it is Kawasaki, says so on the bottom of the casting. It did have a choke lever on the bottom of the control as well.
It's alright if I am not able to use the Parking light option from the Honda ignition switch.
Any insight is appreciated.

I just realized that the ON/OFF switch does not actually need power. Does this sound correct?

Kawasaki to Honda
Red- Black
Red/Black- Blue
Red/Yellow- White(headlight)

Brown- White(AC)
Red- Yellow(AC)
The ON/OFF switch would just control full charging when the lights were turned on.

True. That kaw switch looks like maybe a kz650. Most of the vintage kawis run 12v through the on switch, and hondas usually run a ground to a kill switch. If your kill is working you are good to go.

Unless the horn button is internally wired to only work when the on switch is in the on position. Then you would need to run power through it. IIRC the horn button circuit is a ground, not a power.

For what it's worth that isn't a KZ650 switchblock - the choke on the KZ's was on the side of the carb rack. It's probably off a trail bike judging by the lights on/off switch where it is (most of the road bikes had the light main switch on the RHS switchblock).

Anyway, as long as you can match up the wiring from between the Honda loom and the Kawi switch it's all good - switches all do the same thing (although sometimes the kill switch / horn are grounded though).

Ok. But why does a trail bike have an on off switch, when most have only a kill. There is a difference, and the switches did NOT do the same things in stock form. However yes, a switch by any other name, is still is a switch.

Looking at the Honda diagram some more, I need to get power to the rear light, as well, the Brown/White wire. In the Honda switch, it is powered in the HI and LO circuits. The Kawi switch only has an option for one or the other. Somehow I need to power that through the ON/OFF light switch, I guess.

I have the Kill and Start switches all worked out. I also have the Horn and signals worked out on the Left side. The Horn is internally grounded on the switch.

Enduros like the XL have an on/off at the key switch and an off/run/off on the handlebar.

yes, enduro is a street bike as well though. Not to get semantificated here but a trail bike is a trail bike.

The on/off switch is for the headlight, not the ignition.

What's that ya say?

The ON/OFF switch on the left control is for the lights.

I have all the controls worked out.
One more question: Where is the best place to jump the White and Yellow AC source wires for full charging at all times?

What do you mean by "full charging at all times"?

The CB350 has a main charging leg and then an additional leg when the lights are on.
If you look at this diagram, you will see the White and Yellow wires of the alternator go to the light switch. In the ON position, these two wires are connected.

My new Kawasaki switch does not have this in it's wire layout.

I generally do it coming from the alternator, then straight to the R/R (or rectifier if you're still using the stock unit).
You can pull the most wire that way and just go for the straight shot.

Because trail bikes generally use a magneto or CDI system and street bikes use TCI or points.

I'm using one of your R/R.
So just splice them together at the alternator connector plug to the harness. Then, drop the run on the wires forward and just run the yellow to the R/R.
