Valve guides???? Wtf

Been Around the Block
So my quickie rod bearing replacement has turned on me. All was well, right side rod bearing shot, no biggie. Then i notice the cam chain guide is coming apart. No biggie. So i break two bolts off in the case that hold the crank in. F&$k. Fixed. Might as well replace valve seals. Now i find a loose valve guide. Wtf
Can you fix a valve guide? Do i replace? Jb weld? It spins but doesnt pull out. What do i do?

i would think a engine machine shop should be able to do something with it, they would probably use a oversize guide or something of the like... Make some calls im sure its something thats fixable.

It is the guide spinning and not just the seal?
You can get oversize guides for popular Honda's but 360 isn't listed (CBX, GL series)
They may cross reference as the same but I would make some from aluminum-bronze as it should be way cheaper. (or have them made in your case)
You can buy a 13" length for about $20~$30and have a full set made
They are about $28.00 EACH if you buy ready made as 'race' items (last time I checked about 3~4 yrs ago)
You could also look into a 'new' head although prices are really variable

Oversize not available for 400. And its a different size valve from the four cylinders. My buddy works at a machine shop, thank god. Suggestion is to pull guide, blind fill head with weld and redrill for guide. Sounds like a lot of work. It just spins and does not move outwards from position. I think im just gonna wing it. The valve fits the guide beautifully. I did just clean the head, so maybe after some time it will carbon back up and be good. Used heads are cheap, but so am I.

A loose guide will only get worse, it doesn't 'heal up' ;D
It will also pass a lot of oil either into combustion chamber or exhaust.
It's a lot easier to beat the old guide out, ream head and have oversize guide fitted.
you need about a 0.002"~0.003" interference fit
Valve seats will also need to be re-cut

I can do it but a used head will probably be cheaper?
Have you got my phone number?
