trying to work out how many degrees of timing the valves are open for. any ideas ?

you could mount up a degree wheel and observe,that said it will be pretty much the same as any honda motorcycle engine, even very similar to a small car engine
unless an 4 stroke engine is in a really,really mild or really high state of overall mechanical tune you will find it remarkable how close to the same they all are

Thanks mate, im doing some reading and from my calculations and study i think it should be the same as the cg1125 which calculates (i hope) to 210 deg that the intake valve is open for .
that should be about the same as the ace
