Velocity stacks vs. Pods?

Coast to Coast
Can anyone tell me the Pros and Cons of Velocity stacks vs. Pods? The obvious seems like the Pods will catch finer dust. But the velocity stacks look and must sound better and require more carb cleaning?

Pods will make your engine last longer, unless you are building to show or race I would leave the stacks on the shelf , just my opinion of course

The problem with stacks is filtration and length-tuning. The length effects the pulses, which will likely be destructive (in wave terms) unless you know what you're doing.

There are stacks available that are built into large filters. Won't give you the sleek look, but will accelerate the air and keep it clean.

Pods are generally a pain only when dealing with CV carbs since they don't provide smooth air, which is what velocity stacks are great at. CV carbs need a steady stream to operate the slide and adjust the fuel/air mixture. Without it, you're going to spend time trying to tune it to work "well enough" and even then it's not working as it should.

On slide carbs, no worries.

Pods cover air ports on the throats of CV, and other, carbs. So long as you make sure the inside of the pod doesn't cover any air ports, or so long as you don't have CV carbs because they suck big donkey balls, then pods are your better bet. Velocity stacks are for show bikes that don't get started, or for people who run pieces of screen down inside the throats so they will still filter some dirt out, but not be visible.
