We have sanded our parts in the past 220-600 grit then used the cone that goes on a drill. It worked great. Simple green takes off the polish. We also use it for hand cleaner. The wheel was amazing. With the 25% off coupon you can get the big wheel for the about $50. The 3 pack polishing kit has better wheels for polishing wheels. You can also put the smaller pads on the big polisher. That wheel hoop was a mess and that was about 15 minutes. Be careful not to heat the aluminum up.1sttimer said:Sweet I'll do it. I have a little polishing kit from eBay that comes with all of the compounds. I just need a wheel. It came with some drill shank wheels but I can justify the $50 for a bench wheel at HF.
It amazes me how well you have to clean the part to avoid mixing compounds between stages.

that would be way cool Teazer...are you giving us a higher goal to shoot for?teazer said:I dug up a 16,000 RPM electronic tacho from an RF600 in our stash. I was going to use it on a race CB160 just to screw with people's heads, but you are welcome to it if you need it.
